  2. Introduction • Pugs make great family pets, are very active, and love to play. • Pugs love to show affection, are great to train, and are very smart. • Pugs are loving, caring, and absolutely love attention.

  3. Health Problems • Compact snouts cause pugs to suffer from a range of breathing problems especially in hot and humid weather. • . Their large eyes make them prone to eye problems such as infections. • Pugs also have a tendency to suffer from a range of skin conditions. • Most of their health problems however are treated easily.

  4. Physical Features • Females and males have the same characteristics. • They have 2 types of ears and moles on their cheeks. • Pugs have soft sleek coats that range in colors such as apricot, fawn, black, and silver. • They have a tail with a tight curl to it and sometimes have a double loop.

  5. Temperament • Pugs are perky, loving, loyal, happy, affectionate, playful, and charming. • They love to learn new tasks and are very smart. • They are great with children and do very well when visitors are around.

  6. History • The pug is one of today's oldest breeds, and go back as far as 400 BC in Asia. • It is also the official dog of the house of orange over in Holland after a pug saved the life of the prince of the house of orange by alerting him when Spaniards were coming. • The pug has become a popular breed and is very much loved by owners.
