  1. YARBROUGH'S YAK Week of August 12, 2013 WOW…the first “week” is over and we did a great job! Each and every student has such wonderful things to contribute to the class…I am SOOOO excited about this year! Remember, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks for raising such WONDERFUL children and allowing me the opportunity to be a part of their education! My email is: myarbrough@effingham.k12.ga.us Sight Words Students will be tested on Friday. Students will have to say each word instantly, without sounding them out. They will not have to write them. 1. he 2. was 3. form 4. on 5. are 6. as 7. with 8. his 9. they 10. I Word Work Words Students will be tested on Friday and will have to write each word correctly. These are some examples of word patterns that will be used. The words on this list will not necessarily be the ones tested, but they will follow this spelling pattern. WEEK 1 and 2~Short A hat cat can fan cap tap bad sad ham am has as Homework Daily: Read, or have someone read to you for 10 – 15 minutes. Monday & Tuesday:Math Sheet and Word Work sheet. See inside folder. Wednesday: Family Night (No Homework) Thursday:Math Sheet and Study Word Work list, sight & vocabulary words for test tomorrow. Specials SD1 - PE - Monday SD2– Technology -Tuesday SD3–PE-Wednesday SD4 – Art- Thursday SD5– Music - Friday *Please wear gym shoes on the day your child has PE. Notes from the Teacher… • FRIDAY will be EMERALD DAY~ please read the note concerning activities. the students may wear green shirts and uniform pants. • Please send lunch money and all other monies in the envelope in your child’s money pouch inside notebook. If you would like to pay for your child’s lunch money on-line, go to mylunchmoney.com. • Please send all notes, signed forms, etc. in this notebook. We do not check book bags for notes or money. • Ice Cream: Tuesday $0.75 (or pre-pay for the year $25.00)The office will accept pre-payments thru September 6th and begin filling orders the week of August 12. • The special’s calendar will always be posted on the school’s website. An explanation of the calendar and rotation will be found on the homepage and the Specials “Day” number will be on the school’s calendar. Lunch Menu Monday~ Teriyaki Chicken Tues.~ Sloppy Joe Wed.~ Popcorn Chicken Thursday~ Fish Nuggets Friday~ Cheese Pizza Monday (19th)~ Cheesy Ravioli We eat at 11:36.
