These slabs are sourced from distinctive locations, or quarries, all around the world. One of the most popular dimension stones, which are quarried solely to produce blocks or slabs, is granite. HOW IS MARBLE MINED? The first step in the mining process for marble is to find a possible quarrying location. The most reliable method for a geologist to locate a possible vein is an exposed outcrop marble. The location of the marble's cut impacts the slab's overall beauty and, ultimately, the countertop.
