  2. Ephesians 4:11 “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;” Teacher = instructor, to inform Acts 13:1 “and teachers” 1 Cor. 12:28 Titus 2:3 “teachers of good things” Bible Class teachers are teachers of good things.

  3. What is Teaching ? Illumination Ex. 18:20 “teach” - to shine Ignorance is Darkness and Knowledge is light Prov. 4:19 “The way of the wicked is darkness” 2 Pet. 1:19 “as unto a light that shineth in a dark place”

  4. What is Teaching ? Vision 1 Sam. 9:9 “let us go to the seer” Means “to see” A Prophet Nourishment 2 Sam. 5:2 “thou shalt feed my people” Feed = shepherd

  5. What is Teaching ? Bible Class Teacher • Helps student get out of darkness into light • Shows students the will of God • Feeds them the food for their soul

  6. Importance of Bible Teachers Work • Divine Authority - Eph. 4:11 and Acts 13:1 • What he is teaching – word of God “they shall be all taught of God.”Jn.6:44-45 “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Rm. 10:17 “nurture and admonition of the Lord” Eph.6:4

  7. Importance of Bible Teachers Work • Means of spiritual growth 1 Pet. 2:1-2 “that ye may grow thereby” Knowledge of the word of God • Way to keep Christians saved

  8. Luxury of Teaching the Bible “It is a luxury to learn; but the luxury of learning is not to be compared with the luxury of teaching.” Remember: • Joining hands with Eternity • Helping shape destiny of souls • Dealing with Spiritual values

  9. The Bible Teachers Invisible Pay Check Most tasks have a reward that can be seen • Check $$ • Stronger muscles • Diploma / degree • School - tests - grades Bible teacher cannot always see what the pupils do when they leave class.

  15. The Joy of TEACHING Bible class teachers are valuable: • To God • To the Church • To their students

  16. “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.” James 1:21 Implanted Bible Class teachers plant the word Receive – the student must do this Save – the word is able to save their soul

The Joy of TEACHING Conversion of the Eunuch - Acts 8:26-40 Philip taught him about Jesus Eunuch heard and wanted to be baptized “And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.” Acts 8:39
