  3. Theme Passage 1 Cor 8 6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, & we for Him; & one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, & through whom we live.

  4. Hope Hope Hope- To expectantly look for & anticipate God’s work, intervention or presence.

  5. Hope Hope Hope- It refers both to the ultimate hope, heaven & an end to suffering, & to present day hope, believing in God’s ability to make a difference in our life.

  6. 1) One Hope…Given by Promise- Heb 6:18-20 Hope 18 These two things cannot change: God cannot lie when he makes a promise, & he cannot lie when he makes an oath. NCV

  7. 1) One Hope…Given by Promise- Heb 6:18-20 Hope 18 …These things encourage us who came to God for safety. They give us strength to hold on to the hope we have been given. NCV

  8. 1) One Hope…Given by Promise- Heb 6:18-20 Hope 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure & strong. It enters behind the curtain in the Most Holy Place in heaven, 20 where Jesus has gone ahead of us & for us. NCV

  9. Hope To have hope you have to have something to believe in, something to look forward to & the depth of your hope is based on the “believability” of who you hope in.

  10. Hope is given by God’s choice Hope Col 1 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

  11. Hope is the fulfillment of God’s promise Hope Eph 4 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body & one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;

  12. Hope is the fulfillment of God’s promise Hope Eph 4 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God & Father of all, who is above all, & through all, & in you all.

  13. Hope Hope in God is not a blind hope, a wistful hope or a fleeting hope…the rock-solid character of God is what backs our hope.

  14. Hope Our hope is not in circumstances or luck or even in our best efforts, it lies in our relationship with a God we believe has our best interest at heart.

  15. 1) One Hope…Given by Promise- Heb 6:18-20 Hope What do I hope in? What do I believe my hope depends on?

  16. One Hope…Given in Power- I Peter 1:3-6 Hope 3 Praise be to the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, NIV

  17. One Hope…Given in Power- I Peter 1:3-6 Hope 4 & into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. NIV

  18. One Hope…Given in Power- I Peter 1:3-6 Hope 6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.NIV

  19. Hope Hope that is given by God cannot be taken by the world. God gives us hope through His power, and it cannot be shaken by any earthly power or circumstance.

  20. I Peter 1 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead & glorified him, & so your faith & hope are in God. NIV Hope

  21. Hope Many forces in our world appear to have power to dash our hopes, but they just appear that way—Hope given in power, must be taken by a greater power and there is no greater power than God.

  22. Hope Psalm 33 16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. 17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save. NIV

  23. Psalm 33 18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, 19 to deliver them from death & keep them alive in famine. 20 We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help & our shield.NIV Hope

  24. One Hope…Given in Power- • I Peter 1:3-6 Hope Do I trust in God’s hope or do I live in fear of what the world my do?

  25. Hope Hope Rom 5 1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, & rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

  26. Hope Hope Rom 5 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 & perseverance, character; & character, hope.

  27. Hope Hope Rom 5 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
