  5. Hey y’all (hello you all) Region is east coast, southern state State is North Carolina

  6. Western NC = Appalachian Mountains

  7. Central NC = Piedmont with rich farmland cotton soybeans tobacco corn

  8. Eastern NC = sandy beaches (Atlantic Ocean, Outer Banks)

  9. City is Greenville, NC

  10. East Carolina University PeeDee the Pirate (ECU mascot)

  11. ECU (used to be ECTC) • Training teachers and nurses • 4-year university • >100 BA programs • Also MA and PhD programs • Plus medical school • 27,000 students (88% from NC)

  12. ECU motto is “Servire” (To Serve) • Average year… • 17,000 students volunteer • 162,000 hours of community service
