Even with moderate change in these areas, however, the changing basis of competition, new business models, human resource challenges, and industry dynamics are different enough to pose significant challenges for many financial-services companies • Prompted by free-market economics, the playing field is changing radically, enabling credit unions and other financial-services institutions to compete more intensely.
