  1. Blog 1: easydisc.net CD Replication Vs Duplication CD/DVD duplication and replication processes are often thought of to be the same by many. And here is when a clear distinction between both is necessary for clear understanding. Needless to mention that the purpose of both the processes is different and therefore the procedure and the level of efficiency also differ. Here we will first understand both the processes individually and then we will move on to distinguish between the same: CD/DVD Replication! In this process a metal stamper is created which contains all the content which needs to be feed in the disc; it may be either in audio form or video form. Now a mold of polycarbonate i.e. plastic is filled in the mold which already contains the stamper, and in this way, the matter is inserted in the disc. The stamper requires a lot of precision to be manufactured, and therefore which such a process minimum 500-1000 disc orders are only entertained by the manufacturers. Once the disk is manufactured the artwork is printed on the same as per the specification given by the customer.

  2. Blog 1: easydisc.net CD/DVD Duplication: Unlike replication, the duplication process is used for small orders wherein 300 discs need to be managed. In this process CD/DVDs are not molded from polycarbonate, instead, the readymade disc is burnt for the content to be inserted in them. Automated duplicators are used to burn the disc and in the end, the artwork is printed on the same. The replication process is an old one as compared to the duplication, and also there is more efficiency in the replication process because the manufacturing and burning of the disc take place simultaneously; therefore the quality aspect is ensured. This distinction is vital to understand to approach the right disc manufacturer, and also keeping the cost element into confidence.
