When It Comes to Ramadan Gifts, Islamic Books Are Your Best Bet Like every Year, Muslims all over the world await Ramadan with bated breaths, to welcome it, to prepare for it, strive for it and relish the goodies. It’ s almost become a part of the culture now to meet and greet each other with some Ramadan token gifts with the most popular being dates, sweet and Islamic books like Qura’n Kareem apart from the more regular mouth -watering delectable food – delights. Needless to say, the spiritual affinity towards the creator not only gets strengthened but revitalized through the bonds of kinsman ship and brotherhood when Muslims share their food and joys during Ramadan. What I’d like to draw your attention towards is very significant but not very popular traditions of the Muslim World sic the habit of reading and gifting Islamic books. Passing on relevant information from Deen is not only a Sunnah practice but also contributes towards Sadka-e Jariya by way of sharing it. (A practice through which anyone who passes on relevant Islamic knowledge gets benefitted with sawab good deeds for as long as the piece of information is in circulation and someone keeps learning something from it.) In this fast paced world, where Millennials are generally found clueless about everything under the sun with religion being the top most source of anxiety, it will be a good practice to encourage our young one’s get acquainted to their roots by way of gifting Islamic books this Ramadan season. One could find many books related the seerah (Life History) of the prophet or the companions of the prophets or even the famous messengers and Prophets like Yusuf A.S. The young children gain to learn inspiring stories of these great historical personalities by imbibing their gestures, actions and habits and in turn adopt the nuances of their religion from a young age. With much being said about the bonhomie experienced through shared food and gifts by way of Ramadan gifts, let’s make this Ramadan a tad bit different. Let’s welcome the light of knowledge to wipe out the darkness of ignorance of our hearts.
