  3. How does Identity relate to art? Expressing identity through art The Art is the Identity

  4. Identity in New Media Mouchette – a false identity based on appearance and action designed to give viewers an impression. Images on the site are meant to inspire impression from innocence to suggestiveness to the bizzare.

  5. Shu Lea Cheang – online experience based on the story of Teena Brandon, plays with the idea of gender identity/expression.

  6. Virtual and Physical Identities in New Media Art The act of recording human interactions online, both with art and with the websites through which the art is shared, acts as an identity map of the users, recording what their interests and concerns are via online networks

  7. Corporate and Group Identity Art can be used to create an Identity, the most obvious use of this is in logo design and marketing materials for businesses and groups. This is also the case for artists wishing to remain anonymous.

  8. Anonymity and Freedom of Expression • Anonymity allows an artist to express a part of themselves or a particular viewpoint that they would otherwise suppress in their public image.
