  2. OTHS FOOD DRIVE • The Annual OTHS Food Drive has begun. • Support your period 1 class by making weekly non-perishable donations. • Door to Door Blitz Days: • Saturday December 12th

  3. Help your community… • Those in need in our community need your help… • Support local Food Cupboards by joining the Food Drive team..

  4. We need your help… • The first Door to Door Blitz for the annual OTHS Food Drive takes place this Saturday from 8:30am – 3pm. • All our welcome and community service hours will be granted. • Interested students are asked to attend a meeting Thursday at lunch in lab 104. See Mr. Cooper for further details.

  5. Check our school website often!!! • Community service hours forms are available in the guidance office or on-line at www.othspanthers.ca.

  6. OUAC / OCAS applications due Dec 18th • All potential grads are reminded to have their OCAS / OUAC applications completed by Friday December 18th (Christmas Break) • If you need assistance, please see your guidance counsellor before the break.

  7. 2009 Guide to Canadian Universities • The Maclean’s Magazine University profile guide is in. • Please stop into guidance to see how your prospective school ranked.

  8. Why Climb Mountains When You Can Ski Down Them??? • Several spots are still available for this years Mt. Tremblant trips. • Trips take place this year on: • Sunday Jan 17th and 31st • Sunday February 21st ALL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME! SEE MR.Cooper for more details and forms

  9. Applying to College? • College bound students are invited to apply through the www.ontariocolleges.ca website as it is now open for new applicants. • See your guidance counsellor if you need assistance.

  10. TD Canada trust Leadership Scholarship… • TD is once again offering numerous scholarships to students who are “leaders” in our community. • Please pick up an application form in guidance or visit www.studentawards.com for more details.

  11. Are you interested in a student exchange? • STS (Student Travel) will have an information kiosk set up outside the Caf. on Wednesday October 21st. • Students interested in taking part in an exchange are asked to see the STS representative.

  12. Are you interested in becoming a teacher… • The Vari scholarship / bursary application forms are in for those students who intend to pursue a career in teaching and attend Victoria College (part of the University of Toronto) • See Mr. Cooper for details.

  15. FAST TRACK YOUR CAREER as a technician in the Canadian Navy • Interested in joining the Canadian armed forces? • The program is Navy subsidized through a community college education plan. • Visit www.forces.ca for more details.

  17. Volunteer Opportunities • All volunteer requests have been placed on the othspanthers.ca website. Check it out • Some new postings are available on the volunteer board outside guidance.

  18. COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS • Community service hour forms are available in the guidance office • Potential grads are reminded to ensure they return their completed forms to Mrs. Dore in the guidance office. 40 hours is a required component towards your OSSD.
