What is a radiographer
What is a University to be able to study Radiography?Radiographer?

A radiologist is someone who analyses peoples ultrasound, x-rays, CAT/CT scans (computed tomography), MRI’s (magnetic resonance imaging) PET’s (positron emission tomography)and Nuclear medicine (explained in the next slide). They scan peoples bodies to either diagnose them with something or analyse someone’s broken bone’s.

Nuclear medicine
Nuclear medicine University to be able to study Radiography?

  • Nuclear medicine is a practise that helps find out if you have a disease or how you can treat your specific disease. Nuclear medicine is usually used with more specific and more unique diseases.

Positron emission tomography
Positron emission tomography University to be able to study Radiography?

  • PET scans are full body scans that can create 3D images of the body. PET scans use minimal amounts of radiation to reduce chances of cancer.

Computed tomography
Computed Tomography University to be able to study Radiography?

  • A CT (Computed Tomography) scan is a scan that takes many photos of the injury from different angles to get a 360c angle view which on a computer you can move it to spin around to identify the injury to help fix the affected area.

Magnetic resonance imaging
Magnetic Resonance Imaging University to be able to study Radiography?

  • A Magnetic Resonance Image(MRI) is a more detailed x-ray usually on organs to see how they function and what might be wrong with their system. It uses strong magnetic imaging that wave through the body.

  • You can help many different people with their injuries and sicknesses.

  • You meet a variety of different people and learn many social skills.

  • You feel like you can make a difference in people’s lives if they are injured or are having a new member in their family.

Negatives to being a radiographer
Negatives to being a Radiographer? University to be able to study Radiography?

  • If you take too many scans you can get cancer from too much Radiation.
