Organization VMG • Vision: UWUA is an experienced competent and reliable partner of the Government in sustainable inclusive development of the agricultural sector providing high-quality services on integrated water resource management resilient to climate change, preventing conflict and improving rural livelihoods. • Mission: UNWUA is a professional organization promoting interests of its member on the national and local levels, protecting their rights and providing effective and innovative solutions to respond the emerging issues for progressive development. • Goals: • Effective assistance to WUA development; • Coordination of joint WUA activities for synergy and economy of scale; • Mediating and protecting the rights of WUAs with other entities and courts; • Developing capacities of its members for resource-efficient management and high quality services provision and financial sustainability; • Contributing to favorable enabling framework for the sustainable development.

General Profile • Year established: 06.03.2006 • Total individual members: 1365 male; 209 female • Total number of Farmer organizations: 225 WUA • Total provinces/districts/covered by your org: all seven provinces of the country • Number of board member: 15 male, 2 female • Organizational Structure: • Assembly of Representatives - a supreme governing body; • Board of Directors– the governing body of the Union; • Directorate – an executive body; • Auditing committee – a supervising body accountable to the Assembly of Representatives.

Major programs/services to members • Support to WUAs’ organizational and capacity development; • WUA activities coordination with Department on Water Management and Lands Improvement as a main water supplier; • Representation and mediation of WUA in front of different public and private institutions; • Resource mobilization for technical support to WUA and infrastructure rehabilitation; • Consulting and advice on technical and legal issues/topics.

Major Plans 2014-2015 • Preparation and conducting of the UWUA Board of Directors twice a year; • Development of the project on UWUA capacity development and resource mobilization with donors; • Participation in WUA training activities within small grants projects; • Preparation and conducting of the III National Congress of WUAs; • Development of the Regulation on the Best WUA Award 2014. and further on.
