  2. Leonardo Da Vinci Leonardo Da Vinci Leonardo Da Vinci was born on April 15th 1452 in Vinci, Italy. Leonardo Da Vinci’s birth name is really Leonardo Di Ser Piero Da Vinci. He died on May 2nd of 1519. He always wrote in mirror handwriting to guard his ideas from people. Leonardo Da Vinci never went to school, he studied some math and geometry but nothing more than that. He did not do a self portrait until 1515. His most famous painting was the Mona Lisa, it took him more than three years to finish the Mona Lisa. Leonardo was left handed and like most artist, did not become famous until after he died. The Mona Lisa

  3. Vincent Van Gogh Vincent Van Gogh was born on March 30th 1853. He shot himself in a Wheatfield in Auvers, France. He did not die until two days afterward, at the age of 37. Vincent Van Gogh only sold one painting during his lifetime. Vincent van Gogh did NOT cut off his ear, he only cut off a small portion of the ear lobe. Vincent Van Gogh created his most famous painting The Starr Night, in Saint-Remy-De-Provence in France. Vincent Van Gogh wrote over 800 letters in his life. There are two types of the Starr Night.   4. Pablo Picasso Pablo Picasso was born on October 25th, 1881,in Malaga, Spain. Pablo Picasso’s Baptized name has 23 words in it. It seems like Picasso was born an artist because his first word was “Piz” which is short for Lapiz which is Spanish for pencil. The form of Art Picasso does is cubism.   5. Claude Monet Claude Monet was born on November 14th, 1840 in Paris, France. In 1868, Claude Monet attempted suicide, he had his first son and perhaps the lack of money caused this attempt a Mr.Gaudibert who loved his paintings gave Monet a monthly pension. He paints with Renoir another famous artist. Monet painted outdoors, he painted one of the largest amounts of paintings and consistently liked to paint nature especially landscape paintings.He died on December 5th, 1926 in Giverny, France.   6. Pierre Renoir Pierre Renoir was born on February 25, 1841 in Limoges ,France.Renoir loved to paint happy pictures especially woman and young girl’s. He was best friends with Monet. They painted together. He was very poor at first but began selling his paintings in the 1870’s. He got Arthritis and lived his last years in a wheel chair but even though it was very painful he kept painting until he died in 1919 in Cagnes ,France. Water Can Pierre Renoir

  7. Johannes Vermeer Johannes Vermeer was born in 1632 in the town of Delft, in the Netherlands. There aren’t any pictures of him, all the information about his life comes from legal documents. He painted typical people of his time, especially in their homes. He painted the Dutch woman writing letters, pouring milk and weighing jewels. He only painted 35 paintings. His mother-in law was rich and took care of him and his wife and eleven children. Then the French and Netherland war started and they had no money. and he died of a heart attack at the age of 43, in 1672 Earrings

  8. Edgar Degas Edgar Degas, born on July 19, 1834 in Paris, France, was famous for his portraits. He used traditional art and Impressionist. He was a sculptor also. He liked to paint dancers at different angles. Degas was a excellent artist even when he was little, his father and mother were art lovers and helped him. He lived during the time when people hated others just because they were Jewish. He helped these artists. Degas passed away on September 27, 1917, at the age of 83. The Free Edgar Degas
