  4. Goal for today • Migrate SharePoint 2010 customized web application to SharePoint 2013 and the Manage Metadata and User Profile Service.

  6. Migration Options • Database Attach • Improved over SP2010 database attach • 2007 -> 2010 –> 2013 • In-Place no longer supported • Third Party Tool • Any version -> Any version

  8. Database Attach • Create SharePoint 2013 Farm • Copy Databases to new Farm • Upgrade Service Applications • Upgrade Content Databases • Upgrade Site Collections

  9. Before you start! • Clean up current environment • Look for customizations • Solutions, Webparts, workflows, site templates, master pages, css, event features, etc. • Download from Codeplex: • FeatureAdmin • SharePoint Manager 2013
