Commercial Activities - Now • Aircraft Maintenance • “Ultralight” or recreational maintenance • CASA Certified Workshop for General Aviation • Flight Training (based at MKT) • Student, Biennial Flight Reviews, Instructor Training, GA Training, Helicopter Training • Other flight schools (Belyuen and Darwin Airport use the MKT Facility) • Tindal and Kununnura are satellite training facilities reporting to the MKT based flying school • Refueling facilities

  5. Community Activities - Now • Annual aviation open day • Raise money for charities through events and flight donations • Top End Flying Club is the living embodiment of aviation in the NT. It is a continuance of the Darwin Aviation Club and Aviation Institute – both now defunct. • TEFC has a long history that almost equals the thirty year history of the airfield itself. • Airfield users and the owners are extremely conscious of maintaining the MKT environment from a “Green” perspective.

Recommendation • MKT Aerodrome has been playing a community and commercial role in Weddell for 30 years • It can become a cornerstone and economic catalyst for the city • It exists, it serves and it is a constructive point of difference for Weddell • MKT Aerodrome is Weddell – Vibrant, Tropical, Sustainable
