  7. Understanding Demons • Demons can altar the way we think about things. • Just because I am a Christian does not mean I am free from evil spirits. • Demons are working together. • Demons use other people to work against you. • Demons keep things out. • Duty comes before pleasure for demons. • Demons are strategic. • Their weapon is contented worldliness. • Know that there are demons around. • The safest road to Hell is the gradual one. • Demons want to keep us safe if we are not on their side yet. • Demons like peace.

  8. Direct Encounters With ADemonic Presence • Common Reports • Cold • Death • Choking • Chills • Kopp an attitude • Most common after 1 am • Helpful Practices: • “in the name of Jesus” • Memorize spiritual warfare scriptures • Read the Bible out loud • Pray with people

  9. Ministry Context/Problems In The Church • Two strategies of Evil: • Demons are everywhere • There are no demons • Syncretism: Blending of culture and Religion • Art and Religious Culture: sin with images scare people from hell and help deal with fear. • When you deviate from scripture, all you have is images. • Hindrances of repentance: • Too cool • Conscious (hardened heart) • Blame shifting • Do not know how • Deliverance of someone with an Evil spirit • Avoid Spectrums • Do it with a team • Need rest • Bless them • Prepare • The person has to want to get rid of the spirit

  10. Ways To Defend Ourselves • Ephesians 6:10-18 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints”.

  11. Ways We Can Overcome • Do not let the devil control your thoughts • Do not get caught up in worldly things • Keep your mind on greater things • Pray • Always be certain • Do not take anger out on anyone • Be strong • Do not worry • Do not be lied to • Know what is true • Surround yourself with other believers • Confess your sins • Read the Word • Be humble • Do not be prideful • Use your talents for Gods works • Ask for wisdom • Test the spirits

  12. Lessons/Applications • Brace yourself • Heads up • Fundamentals • Identity • Plan • Give effort • We are in a constant state of war • Courage and strength are not normal • Satan has limits, but God does not • Idols of any kind are liars and demonic • Sensuality is the fast road to idolatry • Both angels and demons have power to effect our every day life • Trust Gods word no matter what, you will be blessed • There is never a such thing as a free sin
