  3. VV.1-55 • Odisseo e i suoi compagni giungono all’isola Eolia, regno di Eolo, signore dei venti. Questo offre a Odisseo la possibilità di una lunga permanenza alla sua reggia e nel momento del congedo, gli regala un otre nel quale ha racchiuso i venti contrari alla navigazione.

  4. Grazie al dono di Eolo, Odisseo può giungere facilmente in vista di Itaca, ma proprio in quel momento egli è vinto dal sonno. I compagni ne approfittano per aprire l’otre misterioso, provocando lo scatenarsi di una tempesta che li allontana dalla patria.
