RPI SWE • Chartered in 1975 • It’s our 40th Anniversary in the Spring!!! • Currently consists of 133 National Members • Activities: • Monthly general body meetings, • Interacting with local Girl Scout troops and schools to encourage interest in science and engineering • Visits by corporate speakers • Workshops on professional topics • Attending national and regional conferences • Fun social events

Stilettos to Steel Toes Schlumberger will talk about Essay Contest • 100-350 word Essay • First place $1,000 • Second place $500 • Third place $250 • Around 30 people submit essays each year • Sophomores-Seniors can apply • 100 dollars is donated to RPI SWE for every essay that is submitted from our section. Monday September 15th 5-6pm Union 3606 Moe’s will be provided

The Inside Scoop from Practicing Professionals on Preparing for the Career Fair and Following up Afterwards Tuesday, September 16, 7 to 9:00 p.m., DCC 318 Co-hosted with NSBE, SHPE, SASE, and WMP. Experienced professional recruiters from GE, a global technological company, will share what recruiters look for at the Career Fair and how you can prepare to put your best foot forward at the Career Fair. Students will model career fair attire and appropriate accessories.

  30. Knowledge source tip of the month! Improving your resume Tailor your resume to your Employer • If you know they are looking for something you have done, highlight it. So what? • You made excel spreadsheets, but why were they relevant? Put enough information… • But don’t overdo it, you want something to talk about during your interview too
