  2. Six Risks... 1. Information that might be inappropriate for them. 2. Information and products that might be dangerous to them. 3. Stalking and harassment by people (often other children). 4. Giving away important and private information. 5. Being scammed or defrauded when they buy things online. 6. They can be lured by cyber-predators who want to meet them face-to-face or exploit them online.

  3. What teens tell us... • 12 – 24% meeting Internet strangers in real life • 60% engaging in cybersex • 40% sharing personal information online • they know the rules but don’t follow them • they are afraid to trust their parents

  6. Awareness...creating safe kids • in school programs • strategic partnerships, like Disney • teen to teen education • making it relevant to the teens • linking up with scouts, churches and community groups • teaching children what to do when things go wrong
