  2. To refer to habits or to things which happen repeatedly. • To refer to permanent situations. • To talk about general statements of truth.

  3. Affirmative. He / She / It plays . I / You / We / They play. • Negative. He / She / It doesn´t play . I / You / We / They don´t play.

  4. Interrogative: Does He / She / It play ? Do I / You / We / They play? • Short forms: Does not = Doesn´t Do not = don´t

  5. How to make he / she/ it forms: General rule It takes –s. Example: Play → Plays.

  6. With verbs ending in :o, s, x, sh or ch: It takes – es . Example: Teach→ Teaches.

  7. With verbs ending in vowel + y: It takes – s . Example: Play→ Plays.

  8. With verbs ending in consonant + y: It changes –y into – I and takes –es. Example: Study → Studies.

  9. Note that: Adverbs of frequency like usually, sometimes, almost, never, etc, are used to express how often things happen. They come: • Before the verb. For example: I usually go to school by bus. • After the verb To Be. For example: She is often with her friends at weekends.
