  2. 1. Van *Indo-Europees tot *Oergermaans • Tussen 2000 en 500 v. Chr. ondergaat ‘het *Indo-Europees’ een aantal evoluties o.a. – wisselend accent in *IE wordt vast initiaal accent => minder beklemtoonde buigingsuitgangen worden minder belangrijk (daardoor soms zelfs verdwijnen) - ontstaan van zwakke werkwoorden - veranderen en differentiëren van klinkers (cf. Latijn ‘octo’ <> Ned. ‘acht’;La. ‘hospes’ <> Ned. ‘gast’) - klankverschuiving van aantal medeklinkers (“eerste klankverschuiving”) –> zie tabel in bijlage

  3. ° Analyse van tabel (zie bijlage): *IE -> *Oergerm P -> T -> K -> B -> D -> G -> = eerste klankverschuiving / Wet van Grimm

  4. => Gevolg: splitsing van het *IE in verschillende dochtertalen, o.a. het *Oergermaans

  5. 2. Differentiatie binnen het Germaans: van *Oergermaans tot Oudnederlands • *Oergermaans wordt - Oost-Germaans - West-Germaans - Noord-Germaans door verhuizingen en veroveringstochten

  6. Continentaal-West-Germaanse talen groeien verder uit elkaar tussen 5e en 8e eeuw (zie tabel in bijlage) = Tweede klankverschuiving / Hoogduitse klankverschuiving (start in Zuid-Duitsland, verspreidt zich meer naar het noorden) • Germ. -> Dui. P -> T -> K ->
