First factory in Belfort, France • 1932 – Alsthom acquired Constructions Electriques de France (a manufacturer of electric locomotives and electrical and hydraulic equipment) • 1955 – Alsthom CC Locomotive beats world speed record at 331 km/h • 1956 – First nuclear steam turbine
