  2. Mentoring • Do you have a mentor in your life? • What is a mentor? • Mentorship refers to a personal developmental relationship in which a more experienced or more knowledgeable person helps a less experienced or less knowledgeable person.

  3. Mentoring cont. • Mentor is someone who you can talk with about your life, future, goals, and dreams. • Do you have a mentor in your life? • By your name on the last page of the Multiple Intelligence, please put a Yes or No above the line that says last name.

  4. What I Do? • Individual Counseling: • self refer using form in back office or ask a teacher for a pass. • teacher/parents refer as needed because they care • Group Counseling • All students can self refer via form in STRIDE • Teacher/Parents refer • CARE and SAIL support • Plan For Success Group

  5. What I Do cont. • SPEC Conferencing • 30 minute meeting during the school day. • Parent(s), Guardian(s), student and your counselor • Offered one time in either 7th or 8th. • Starting November 30 running through beginning of March • Schedule on line, watch for letter home and newsletter articles for directions • Different than your LV conference • Review stuff in WISCareers: Taking Interest Profiler http://www.wiscareers.wisc.edu

  6. Other things I Do • Parent Meetings and Conferences • House Meetings • Giving Tree Board Member • Unity Group • Lots of other school committees and meetings • Mom to Luke and Landon • Wife to Jeff • Mom to Golden Retriever Gracie • Lover of my cabin in the north woods and new one in Arkansas

Multiple Intelligence Assessment • There are Nine Kinds of Smart • We all have some of each but have one or two that are our primary kind of smart or way we like to demonstrate what we know • We will all take the assessment together and collect THE LAST PAGE before you leave today ..\..\SPEC conferences\Multiple Intelligence\one sheet to identify your top two MI.doc
