Recap

Main recommendations for Mauritius and way forward

Harmonising with existing national plans and link with MTEF

Integrate with the ESTP, long-term Ministry plans, PBB Strategic Plans and the budget

  • The 10-year ESTP will:

    • Seek to achieve a balance between growth, sustainability and equity and will include strategies that will enhance national productivity, strengthen economic resilience and better prepare us to face external shocks

    • Provide national outcomes and sector objectives to which the PBB financial allocations and performance targets will be linked, thus strengthening the integration of strategic planning and budgeting functions

    • Bring coherence between strategies by addressing cross-cutting issues

    • 5 development axes identified: economic infrastructure, social infrastructure, human capital, enterprise, science and innovation and social inclusion

ESTP objectives

  • Will build on:

    • MID Vision and the Government Programme

    • Policy orientation announced in the Budget

    • International commitments with Development Partners

  • New Government Programme will feed into the ESTP

  • Will be developed through consultations with all stakeholders, including private sector, NGOs and civil society

  • Outcomes that are monitorable

  • Planning indicators and targets linked to key outcomes that can be monitored to track progress
