  1. Unit 5 P.A.Middle Eastern Marketplace OBJECTIVE: Using the knowledge learned from our text and The Breadwinner, students will create a Middle Eastern Marketplace.

EXPECTATIONS • Similar to our previous Performance Assessments, you will have several options to choose from, to display your talents and knowledge learned from Unit 5: Ancient Mesopotamia and The Middle East. • COMPONENTS: • Jobs: jobs found in marketplace (merchants, scribes, Taliban Soldiers, tea boys) • Culture: People found in marketplace (mostly MEN, if women are present, what must they wear and who must they be with?) What type of foods, goods, etc. would be sold at the marketplace? • Hammurabi’s Code: What type of law system would there be? • Geography: Where will your marketplace be? Kabul, Afghanistan, the Fertile Crescent, etc. Has it changed since Ancient Mesopotamia? • Writing: What type of writing style would you find?

  3. MUST HAVE • 3 Visual Representations • 1 paragraph per each component (5 PARAGRAPHS!) Options: • PowerPoint • Diorama • Physical Model • Poster • Mobile
