  1. TAPS at the KVI in 2005 What are the physics goals? What is the required setup? What is the present status? What still needs to happen? Who is involved? When do we plan to be ready? 1997 op het KVI H.L., TAPS at KVI in 2005

  2. proposals involving TAPS at KVI H.L., TAPS at KVI in 2005

  3. proposals involving TAPS at KVI H.L., TAPS at KVI in 2005

  4. Interacting cluster model Kajino, Toki, Kubo, PRC 35(87)1370 correlated microscopic cluster wave functions using Resonating Group Method (RGM), NN effective interaction + Coulomb (check charge symmetry), entrance channel distortions by local imaginary potential WD between clusters (from DWBA) compared to shell model wave functions data suggest importance of cluster correlations H.L., TAPS at KVI in 2005

Effect of cluster structures on  production • contacts with theorists: • Volya (ANL), co-author • H. Toki (RMF +  field) • calculates cluster structure of 8Be • O. Scholten, R. Timmermans • (KVI contact and interest) • no final theory predictions yet, • theorists wait for systematic experiments! similar processes but with increasing complexity in cluster structure: 3He + 9Be experiment is very complementary, crucial for cluster mechanism: requires 39 additional shift! H.L., TAPS at KVI in 2005

  6. Planned setup of TAPS with Plastic Ball at the BBS Plastic Ball needs to be re-installed ... and equipped with Inner Shell TAPS needs to be placed New detectors for Heavy Ions in BBS Li beam and target Liquid He target H.L., TAPS at KVI in 2005
