The media promotes unattainable beauty ideal that affect the confidence girls have about their physical appearance, social pressure to achieve this kind of beauty becomes one of the most important losses in the lives of these girls. • More than 60% of girls stop doing something they love because they feel bad about how they look. • 19% won’t try out for a team or a club. • 23% won’t go to the beach or swimming pool. • 13% won’t give an opinion. • 15% won’t go to school. • (“The Real Truth About Beauty – Revisited”, • Dove Global Study 2010)

  4. Children as young as five , andwomen as old as 80 say they are worried about their appearance. 1in2 girls told us they don’t feel comfortable leaving the house without makeup on.

  5. Young Australians have ranked Body Image among their top three concerns for the last six years. 30% of British women told us they would trade at least a year of their life, to achieve their ideal body weight and shape.

  7. In Mexico since 2007 we have: More than 400 Mil lives reached. Through our conferences and workshops in communities for mothers, mentors, teachers, girls, boys and young people.

  8. Our Global target is by 2015 to reach: 15,000,000 Girls, boys and young people between 8 and 17 years old. Our goal in Mexico is: 100,000 Lives for 2013.

  9. Working in the Community This year, we have inspired more than 5,900 mothers, teachers, mentors and youth leaders to download and roll out Self Esteem and Body Confidence activities reaching 43,879 girls, boys and young people in Mexico.
