  6. IT Project Management Structure Port IT has a Strong Matrix PM Organizational Structure • Strong Matrix:project authority and power lies with the PM and there’s typically dedicated staff. Functional manager responsible for providing internal resources.

SharePoint at the Port 2007 – 2008 SharePoint Platforms • Implemented Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 • Implemented Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 3.0 Applications • Collaboration Sites Roll-out • Application for Property Lease Agreement Management • Integrated SP, Core Financial System, and GIS system • Employee Portal 2009 - 2010 • Migrated Existing Documentum sites to SharePoint collaboration sites • Developed Internal SharePoint Staff Capabilities

SharePoint at the Port 2011 • SharePoint 2010 Implementation • SharePoint Governance Established • Document/Content Management Pilot Project 2012 – 2013 • Engineering Department moves from Fileshares to SP Project Sites • Numerous Custom Collaboration Sites Developed • Deploy SP2010 Collaboration Sites for Functional Units, Internal Cross-Functional Teams, and Individual My Sites • Upgrade SP2007 and WSS 3.0 Farms/Applications to SP2010

  9. My SharePoint Beginnings • In 2007 my project site was “VOLUNTEERED” to migrate from Documentum to SharePoint • I saw potential but struggled with organization. • Teams were frustrated… “I can’t find anything!” • I finally sat down and designed a site
