  2. The Fall of Rome • 476 A.D • Christianity, decadence, lead, monetary trouble, military problems and the rise of Islam. • The Emperors moved the capital away from Rome. • They were surrounded by powerful neighbors. • Rome had become too big to control.

  4. Important Cities • Camelot- A dream city where King Arthur dispenses justice, host feast and surrounds himself with brave knights. • Avalon- Where his sword was forged

  5. Important Places • Pendragon Castle- His fathers castle. • Wormelow Tump- Burial place of his son Amr. • Camlann- Final battle where he is mortaly wounded by his nephew.

  8. The Magna Carta FUN FACT! • The Magna Carta was created in 1215. • King John was forced to sign it by the people to proclaim certain rights • Issued in the Kingdom of England Ross Perot wasted $21.3 million dollars on a version of the Magna Carta

  9. The Battle of Hastings • Occurred October 14, 1066 • Norman conquest of England • 10 km northwest of Hastings • Norman victory • King Harold was killed during battle

  10. FUN FACT! The Crusades • Led by Richard I, the king of England in 1189 • Richard I was planning to make a crusade to the holy land because he was anti-Semitic. • He raised taxes in order to form an army There were 9 crusades

The Black Death • 1348-1350 • Huge epidemic that killed million of people all over Europe. • Peasants revolted against manors and asked for better treatment. • People got angry against church/government because they were unable to help them. FUN FACT The bodies were burned to prevent spread of disease.

  13. FUN FACT The Hundred Years War • 1337-1453 • Between England and France • There were periods of peace and cease fire • Waged war again and again over different conflicts. The war lasted longer than 100 years.
