  1. Is It Safe To Get A Massage For Pregnancy Back Pain? Pregnant women who are interested in massage therapy should always opt for safety first approach and always see the massage therapist who is trained and certified in prenatal massages. The first trimester is the time when the woman is usually not feeling well and may not opt for prenatal massages, as they are not comfortable in their first trimester. With the ending of the first trimester, all the discomfort also goes off and then you can also see if you experiencing any back pain issues or not. Opt for Swedish massage during Pregnancy: The right type of massage for you during pregnancy is Swedish massage. Swedish massage involves the right types of long strokes over tight muscles. It is recommended to avoid deep tissue massage and similar other techniques that might cause blood pressure risk, especially when massaged in legs and caves. Always make sure when you go for a prenatal massage you therapist should place you in a proper safe and comfortable position. You should lie down in a side position supported by pillows if required; this is the best way to lie down to get the massage in the massage table. Be careful after 22 weeks of Pregnancy: After 22 weeks of pregnancy, you should avoid lying on your back as it puts pressure on blood vessels that are important for carrying nutrients and blood to your baby. You should always consult your doctor before going for massage whether your body is right for massage or not. If the doctor allows you to go for a massage then you can start a session with a prenatal massage therapist, and you can get relief from lower back pain. Massage therapy is best to relieve tension: Massage therapy helps to address the inflamed nerves by releasing the tension on the nearby muscles. Many women experience a significant reduction in sciatic nerve pain with the help of massage during pregnancy. Sciatic nerve pain is experienced by most of the women in the late pregnancy because the uterus rests on the muscles of the pelvic floor and lower back.
