Aim • Describe rare case of heterotopic ossification (HO) that affected both upper limbs and severely interfered with activities of daily living. • Relevance • HO management is controversial. • Although some reports have investigated assess-ment and surgical resection techniques for HO of ≥1 joints, multijoint stiffness secondary to HO is rare.

  3. Method • 32-year-old male: • Had HO in 5 upper-limb joints. • Underwent 5 operations. • Completed active and passive range of motion exercises.

  4. Results • Last follow-up 12 mo postoperation showed no recurrence of HO.

  5. Conclusion • Comprehensive rehabilitation management for multijoint stiffness secondary to HO includes surgical excision and therapist-assisted gentle exercises.
