  1. Code interfaces and data structures  Standardization of formats and interfaces  Machine descriptions

  2. A short introduction • Goal : to have different codes exchanging data in a common format • Key elements : • Common definition of data agree on data structure, definitions, and units. Part of it is to eliminate all hard-coded machine-dependent features : codes must use a generic tokamak description • Platform : common environment allowing to exchange the data between the codes • Although different choices may be used by the various Integrated Modelling initiatives/projects … • … some degree of convergence is desirable, as a prefiguration of the common work of the parties on ITER

  3. Session outline • SWIM Project (USA) • D. Bernholdt : The SWIM Integrated Plasma Simulator (20 + 5 minutes) • Code interface development activities in Japan • A. Fukuyama (20 + 5 minutes) • Integrated Tokamak Modelling Task Force (Europe) : • B. Guillerminet : overview of the Infrastructure and Software Integration Project (15 + 5 min) • M. Airaj : status and results from the ITM scientific workflow with KEPLER (15 + 5 min) • F. Imbeaux : data structure (15 + 5 min) • Discussion : 20 minutes
