  1. Difference Between Ethnography and Ethnology in Anthropology

  2. Ethnology and Ethnography with Anthropology • The Ethnography and ethnology have been associated with disciplines in the area of our cultural anthropology. The Cultural anthropology involves different types of the human culture. It includes the social and religious life. It also consists of political and something beyond.

  3. Relationship of Ethnography and Ethnology with Cultures Ethnography concentrates on the single cultures or particular structures under one culture. On the other hand, the ethnology involves the observation of members along with culture structures. There is relationship with those members to cultures.

  4. Comparative Approach of Ethnology Ethnology has been driven with theory with the help of comparative approach having content of the ethnographers to look for the commonalities. It is found within the cultures or the human behaviors. The ethnology takes the broad viewpoint with the comparison of the cultures or checking the history in depth on culture for sharing the reason and the way it will function.

  5. Ethnology • It is a branch of anthropology and it deals with races and people. We find the relations with one another plus origin. They have some unique feature.

  6. Unusual Features of Ethnology and Ethnography There is a difference between ethnology and ethnography. Ethnology includes the scientific research on population and it might be a human being or ethnologist or it can be a plant or ethno-botanist. The ethnography represents the graphic presentation on the societies of human being. Ethnology has been vast on the basis of terminology. On the other hand, the ethnography has been limited to the particular account of the special people or special society.

  7. How Ethnologist and Ethnography Discovers Facts • The ethnologist is actually the sociologist or anthropologist. The individual can be biological or social scientist who had tried a study on the population in the personal style. • The ethnographer has been a specialist who tries to discover the facts from the opinion of people through observation of the real facts in context in that specific society or culture.

  8. Specific and Generic Nature • The ethnography represents that account of specific people. Ethnology has been systematic collection along with a comparison. There has been ethnographic contrast. There is something specific about ethnography while the ethnology has been discovered to be generic. • There is a new way of observing the writing or acquisition of ethnographies which anyone can accomplish. The ethnology had a particular academic discipline, having a new name for the field of cultural anthropology.

  9. Following Roots of Ethnology and Ethnology • When we talk about ethnography, we think that it is the descriptive aspect of the cultural anthropology. The observations are written down. On the other hand, the ethnology has been explanatory aspect and they create a generalized information. Ethnography has been related to discourse. Ethnology is related to scientific study. We need to follow those roots, e.g., -graph and -ology. It is important to note that a student can be in the field school on ethnography in a particular summer and he had attended the ethnology class in the upcoming fall term.

  10. How to Conduct Research • There has been an attempt to narrate people, society and culture. The task is frivolous in nature due to the collectives and it is quite complex for following them. The researcher has to observe it for one year or more.

  11. Ethnographers Belief System • Ethnographers believe that they have the capacity of doing it. On the other hand, the ethnologists have faith on them, acquire the writing and this is the “-graph-” of our ethnoGRAPHy. It has to look“scientific.” This is also known as social anthropology, which is a part of Social Science.

  12. Example of Ethnography • Ethnography indicates a form of report in anthropology. An example is the ethnography of The Navajo. • We can imagine archaeology. The archaeography is an ethnography of the past cultures.

  13. Different Type of Ethnographies • The Cultural Anthropologists compose different types of ethnographies. We have come across the cultural geographers. We encountered the historians along with documentarians. Irrespective of those acquiring ethnographies, the conclusions are drawn from them and it has been regarded as the job of an ethnologist.
