  2. BIPT Interfaith Projects • Two recent inter-faith projects: • Funded by EmbraceBC • Aim to explore role of faith and inter-faith in settlement process for newcomers & to make Burnaby a more welcoming and inclusive community for everyone

Sharing Experiences and Building Bridges • Project findings (survey, focus groups & dialogue) indicated: • A strong interest in continuing the discussion about the value of faith in the settlement process • The importance of including members of all faith communities in the dialogue • The need to build trust between & among participants as we address increasingly complex issues together

  4. Strengthening Interfaith Bridges Goal To continue to develop faith community leadership and to build understanding and support for ongoing inter-faith work in Burnaby

  5. Strengthening Interfaith Bridges • Involves: • Creating a community-based/faith-based Advisory Committee to guide the project • 3 small community dialogue sessions – November, February, April • 3-5 newsletters to share information about project & other faith-related activities in Burnaby • 1 community forum – May/June 2013
