NGO Slovo 21 • Non-governmental organization SLOVO 21 was founded in 1999 in Prague and in this time it realize educational, cultural, media, public awareness and other projects, especially Roma projects and project aiming on integrations of immigrants. • Leading goals are to combat racism and xenophobia, to help to protect and respect human rights, to teach tolerance towards ethnic minorities, in particular the Roma minority, to support integration of foreign nationals living in the Czech Republic, to provide media support to minorities in the Czech Republic. • We cooperate with other NGOs and governmental organizations from the Czech Republic and abroad. • www.slovo21.cz

Roma projects • Educational projects • „Pošli to dál“ – support Roma students to prepare for entrance exams for high schools and colleges. • „Podpora zaměstnávání Romů v Praze“ – requalification courses for unemployed Roma in Prague • Cultural activities • „Requiem for Auschwitz“ – concert Requiem for Auschwitz Rathgeb and accompanying program composed by Roma composer Roger M. reminding all the victims of the Holocaust • „World Roma festival Khamoro“ – one of the biggest Roma cultural event in Europe

Immigrant projects • „Welcome in the Czech Republic – introductory courses for newly arrived foreigners • For foreigners from non EU – countries who wants to stay in the Czech Republic more than 6 month • Eight – hour courses in Czech language, interpreted to different languages • Course contains the most important information about residence in the Czech Republic (residence issues, right and responsibilities of foreigners, information on accommodation, health and emergency, business, school system, social system etc.)
