STATUS REPORT FOR STANDARD IN DEVELOPMENT NASA-STD-5019: Fracture Control Requirements for Spaceflight Hardware Date: June 2007 TWG Chair: Scott Forth scott.c.forth@nasa.gov Center: JSC Phone: 281-483-2480 Proposal No.: Assigned by Proposal System If VCS, Standards Developing Org: Start: January 2007 Deliver to NTSPO: June 2007 Task Description: Transition from interim standard. Plans ● Undergoing EMB Concurrence ( Final Draft dated 05/07/07). Accomplishments ● Altered the Pressure Vessel requirements based on lessons learned from SSP and ISS and coordinated with the NESC. ● Made minor clarity changes based on feedback from Lockheed Martin’s use of NASA-STD-(I)-5019 from Orion. ● Resolved 146 changes with Agency-wide review. STATUS REPORT FOR STANDARD IN DEVELOPMENT NASA-STD-6016: Standard Materials and Processes Requirements for Spacecraft Date: June 2007 TWG Chair: Michael Pedley Center: JSC Phone: 281-483-8913 Proposal No.: Assigned by Proposal System If VCS, Standards Developing Org: Start: January 2006 Deliver to NTSPO: March 2007 Task Description: Create Agency standard for spacecraft materials and processes requirements Plans ● Review comment dispositions with originators by the end of August. Accomplishments ● Agency-wide review complete (no responses from ARC, DFRC, GRC and “no comments” response from GSFC). ● About 150 comments in comments resolution matrix; all have received preliminary disposition but disposition not yet coordinated with originators. STATUS REPORT FOR STANDARD IN DEVELOPMENT NASA-STD-6008: Fastener Management and Control Practices Date: June 2007 TWG Chair: Rajib Dasgupta Center: JSC Phone: 281-483-4739 Proposal No.: Assigned by Proposal System If VCS, Standards Developing Org: Start: August 2006 Deliver to NTSPO: TBD Task Description: Technical Working group to lead development of the NASA fastener control standard. FTE includes 0.10 FTE for TWG chair and 0.05 FTE for JSC fastener consultant. Plans ● A face-to-face meeting to discuss more serious issues is being planned at JSC for late June or early July. Accomplishments ●Work in the past 6 months has been in resolving issues identified by review at other NASA Centers. ● Fifty one out of the 132 comments have been addressed in the draft document. ● Drafted flow-chart depicting how fasteners are classified; will be finalized shortly.
