  2. What is a Force?Pg 124 What does it mean to exert a force? How did force effect the marble on your roller coaster? Do forces being exerted always end up causing motion? Why or why not?

  3. Pg 125 4) What is the SI unit for measuring force? 5) Think about your roller coaster. What kinds of forces were exerted on the marble? Can you see the forces? Draw a picture of your roller coaster to help explain.

  4. Pg. 126-127 6) Look at the picture on the bottom of pg 125, and compare it to the picture on the top of pg 126. What is happening in each picture? How are the situations similar or different? 7) What happened to the marble on your roller coaster when forces were balanced? 8) What happened to the marble on your roller coaster when forces were unbalanced?

(pg 125) • Give an example of an unbalanced for causing a change in motion.(pg 127) • Give an example of an object that has balanced forces acting on it. (pg 126)
