"Nabucco" by Giuseppe Verdi at Masada. המרחב שנחצב על שטח המדבר כלל גם עמודים דמויי אבן, מזרקות, דוגמאות של כאילו עתיקות וריצוף המתאים לימי בית שני. בתפאורה הזאת היו כל הדוכנים של אוכל,שתיה חמה וקרה. במקום היו שולחנות,כיסאות,שפות וכורסאות – ממש נהדר !.

In spaţiul amenajat în zona deşertică, s-au pus piloni ca de piatră, fântâni,diferite obiecte, pavaj , toate dând impresia că ne aflăm în perioada celui de-al doilea Templu.(anii 500 i.e.n )În acest cadru au fost amplasate tarabele de alimente, băuturi reci şi calde.Au fost mese, scaune, fotolii,bănci ca de piatră – un adevărat eveniment înaintea spectacolului!
The space cut into the desert area also included stone-like pillars, fountains, different objects , pavement like those in the Second Temple period.In this setting were the stalls of food and beverage.There were tables, chairs, armchairs, sofas , stone-like – benches. A real Happening !
Massada – a dramatic and powerful background that, through light effects , appeared and disappeared during the whole show. המצדה – רקע דרמטי ומלא עוצמה, אשר לכל אורכו של המופע נגלה ונעלם דרך התאורה. Massada – un fundal dramatic şi puternic, a apărut şi a dispărut prin efecte de lumină dealungul întregului spectacol.
Nabucco is an opera in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi to an Italian libretto by Temistocle Solera, based on the biblical story and the play by Anicet-Bourgeois and Francis Cornu. Nabucco follows the plight of the Jews as they are assaulted and subsequently exiled from their homeland by the Babylonian King Nabucco. Characters: Nabucco, King of Babylon Abigaille, Nabucco's supposed daughter Fenena, Nabucco's real daughter Zaccaria, the Hebrews High Priest Ismaele, nephew of the King of Jerusalem Anna, Zaccaria's sister High Priest of Baal Abdallo, official of Nabucco's court Hebrews, Levites, Assyrians, vestals and soldiers. Setting: 586 B. C. in Jerusalem and Babylon.

The prophecy “ Babylon shall become rubble , a den for jackals , an object of horror and hissing without inhabitant “ (Jeremiah, 51:37 ) הנבואה והיתה בבל לגלים מעון תנים שמה ושרקה מאין יושב" ( ירמיה נ"א , ל"ז)
By the banks of the Euphrates, the Israelites are resting from forced labour. Their thoughts go back to their lost homeland.
Fly, thoughts, on wings of gold; go settle upon the slopes and the hills,where, soft and mild, the sweet air of our native land smells fragrant! Greet the banks of the Jordanand Zion's toppled towers.Oh, my country so lovely and lost! Oh, memory so dear and despairing! Golden harp of the prophetic seers,why do you hang mute upon the willow?Rekindle our heart's memories and speak of times gone by! Mindful of the fate of Jerusalem,either sound a song of sad lamentation, or else let the Lord give us the strength to bear our sufferings!
על גדות נהר הפרת. גולי בבל מתגעגעים לציון ולירושלים ושרים את שיר הערגה הנודע: ``עלי מחשבה, על כנפי זהב`` הנשאו לכן,מחשבותיי,על כנפי זהב לכו,נוחו על מצוקים ועל פסגות שם הרוחות המתוקות,רכות וענוגות, נודפות ריח מתוק מאדמת המולדת ! שם,מן הירדן,מצדיעה הגדה ממעבי מגדלי ציון שקרסו. אהה,מולדתי,כה יפה...ואבודה זכרך יקר כל כך ומייאש נבל של זהב נושא את נבואת הקדרות: מדוע הינך תלוי דומם על הנצרים? הזיכרונות עתידים לבעור, שוב , מעומק הלב, ולתת ביטוי לזמן שחלף ואינו נותן דעתו על גורל ירושלים ומשמיע בצער זעקה קורעת יהי רצון שייתן לנו הבורא עוצמת נפש לשאת את סבלותינו !
