  1. 7 Tips to Get Your Wardrobe Ready for the Summer Season

  2. Create Extra Space When changing to a new season, be decisive about what clothes to keep by remembering when you last wore them. If you can't remember, it's time to donate or discard them. Repair the clothes that can be mended before donating. This will free up space in your wardrobe for well-fitting outfits that make you feel confident. If you need a wardrobe redesign, consider a fresh built-in wardrobe with sliding doors, hinges, or mirrors.

  3. Wash Storage Items Before storing your winter clothes, ensure they’re clean. Washing and stain-treating your cold-season garments keeps them in pristine condition and ready to wear when summer ends. Although it seems cumbersome and unnecessary, you’ll appreciate this move when winter finally arrives.

  4. Take Inventory Of Your Summer Clothing After storing winter clothes, organize your summer outfits towards the front of your wardrobe. Keep lighter clothes like sleeveless shirts, t-shirts, light dresses, shorts, and pants at the front and heavier winter garments at the back. Consider storing clothes you won't need in containers or bags if your wardrobe is small. This organization helps you identify any missing items and quickly scan through your summer outfits.

  5. Create A Wants And Needs List When shopping, assess your wants and needs and prioritize them by creating a list of necessary items and a wish list. This helps you stick to a budget and avoid impulse buying. You may find that you don't need or want anything, which saves you money and eliminates the urge to go shopping.

  6. Get Your Best Outfits Ready After decluttering and taking inventory, prepare your best outfits by choosing clothes that look great on you and matching them to showcase your style. Arrange your preferred items closer to the front of your wardrobe for easy access. Create outfits for formal occasions and try to wear every piece of summer clothing you own. Only keep comfortable clothes in your closet.

  7. Get Some Inspiration To prepare for shopping, consider finding style inspiration first. You can do this by identifying your fashion heroes, such as friends, celebrities, or fashion influencers, whose style you admire. Additionally, you can search for fashion inspiration in magazines, Pinterest, or Instagram if you don't have access to print publications.

  8. Go Shopping You now have a wants and needs list and some style inspiration – there is nothing stopping you from shopping now! When shopping, pick standalone pieces and clothes that will work with what you already have to create full outfits. Some of our favourite wardrobe staples for the season include floral dresses, lightweight coats, versatile denim jackets, sandals, cross-body bags for carrying accessories, and a basket bag for carrying your beach gear.
