ThoughtfulCourse Selection, THE process… • Students register for courses • The number of students in each course is taken to central office in MARCH • Decisions are made in MARCH as to what classes are offered and how many classes are offered • Be certain to select courses that you TRULY want (including alternates)!

  16. Be sure this is 100% complete when you arrive for your registration appointment. 8th grade teachers will recommend course levels for rising Freshmen. GMS will be sending home notification of these recommendations.

Challenges = Opportunity • Dual Enrollment Courses • Must complete VWCC application • Partner with VWCC to earn college credit • Research college of choice to determine how credit will be awarded (elective, subject area etc). • VPT – VA Placement Test must be completed; results returned to guidance (would like to have by Feb 17); test results will determine if student qualifies to enroll in the desired course
