  2. To absorb sunlight into panels and then use it as energy. • They are a very good source of energy, considering that the sun will only burn out after my lifetime, and many more. • This type of energy is called renewable, renewable energy is energy that can be recreated in a simplistic way. • Panels are used very well Solar panels:

  3. One electric stove minimum of 1100 watts. • 2-3 tablespoons of table salt • Electric drill with sand paper • ½ sheet of copper flashing • 2 alligator clip leads • Sheet metal sheers • A micro-ammeter • One 2 liter bottle • Safety goggles • Tap water Materials needed:

  4. Positives Negatives • Give off no pollution • Gives you large amounts of electricity to one place, no matter what. • Can go on top of roofs, doesn’t take up much space. • Cost of them will pay off with the amount of work they put out purely for you. • Lets you be independent, and completely no reliant of fossil fuels. • Expensive • You have no electricity at night. • If the weather is bad, you may not have electricity. • Pollution effects the efficiency of the solar panels. Obviously, there are many more pros than cons, which will show why I chose this renewable resource. Solar panels:

  5. Making solar panels: • For me to purchase the solar panels , it would cost anywhere from $8,000 to $80,000. It also depends on the weather and location of where the school is. I believe that Arizona is probably the best place to have solar power panels because its so sunny here. (: • Small school :$8,000 • Large school :$80,000 http://www.viddler.com/explore/justinglime/videos/18/ Above is a link, when you click on it, you will be taken to a video of how to create a small solar panel.

  6. Diagram To the left is a diagram of the new and improved Tonopah Valley High school included with solar panels to help with fossil fuels. Giving this school solar panels makes perfect sense because you only go to school during the day, and during the summer, you would save money. For no electricity except for the days. During sports games inside the gym, we will save up energy from the day, and use it in the gym, and if we run out of electricity, we will go back to using regular lights for the remainder of the night. This way we will use the suns energy to keep our school going.
