  1. Holiday Edition Fourth Grade Free Press Mr. Fox’s Class Friday, December 10th, 2010 Hi Families, I can’t believe that it is only a week and a half to Christmas Break! It is crazy how fast this year is going! This week we took our second NWEA Reading test in computer class. I was very pleased with the results! The majority of our class made some great strides and gains since the fall. (All teachers love to see that!!!) We have been flying through our first lit circle book, Because of Winn Dixie. The kids have really been enjoying reading this together and they seem to be understanding all of the lit circle roles very well. It is my hope that this will make January very easy for them! This will be the last FGFP I send home until after Christmas break. We will have a normal reading unit next week, but I have also added a lot to the content from next week in to this week so the kids are already familiar with it. I did this so we would have more time next week for some fun holiday activities! We will be doing a couple of art projects, reading a holiday book and working on some holiday writing. It should be a really fun week and a half! We are going to have our Holiday party on the 22nd. That is when we will be trading our Secret Santa gifts. I hope that the story I sent home and my explanation were too confusing. If you have any questions, please let me know. I have been telling the students that I would like them to bring in there gifts on Monday the 20th just to make sure that everyone remembers. Mykayla F. will be our Star of the Week person next week! I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas filled with family, friends and great yuletide traditions! Thank you very much for everything you do for your kids! If you have any questions for me please don’t hesitate to e-mail or call. Have a great weekend! -Mr. Fox Upcoming Dates: December: Thursday 9th– Reading NWEA in Computer Friday 10th– Early Release Day – Staff Development Monday 20th– Trip to Park Ridge Retirement Home-For Christmas Carols! 10:05-11:15.
