  3. What we learned. . . • Generally, commuters use highway corridors closest to their homes. • More than 50 percent of Rosemount and Savage residents work outside their city boundaries (opportunity for transit). • More than 60 percent of residents were familiar with the MVTA.

  4. Transit Opportunities Based on resident responses to the question about use of potential services, there is great opportunity for MVTA and transit. It should be noted, however, that each and every one of these items will require further review including FTA special service compliance and funding needs: • 31-34% are much or somewhat more likely to use transit when there are well-connected bike trails. • 30-42% are much or somewhat more likely to use transit if there is frequent local service. • Nearly 50 % indicated they are much or somewhat more likely to use transit service to the State Fair. • Free Wi-Fi provides an incentive to ride transit. • Sporting or other events in downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul may be opportunities for transit.
