Implementation of NDP through RRR: Summary and Way Forward

This policy directive by Premier Sor Mahumapelo outlines the implementation of the National Development Plan (NDP) through the Rebranding, Repositioning, and Renewal (RRR) approach. It focuses on five concrete areas, including agriculture, tourism, villages, townships, and small dorpies (VTSD), reconciliation, healing, and renewal (RHR), comprehensive service delivery campaign (Setsokotsane), and unity of purpose (Saamwerk-Saamtrek). The directive emphasizes the attainment of the NDP through radical policy pronouncements and job creation initiatives. Key initiatives include the people's housing program, road construction, security services, cooperative projects, farming initiatives, and more.

  13. AGREE TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FOLLOWING JOB CREATION INTIATIVES IMMEDIATELY

  14. Job creation initiatives • People’s housing programme: get people to supply roofing materials, bricks, plumbing, plastering, painting, sand, and cement plus their labour. That way you can have about 9 cooperatives/people/jobs. Or we can have teams/cooperatives laying foundations, others building walls, the third roofing. So instead of giving one person a contract to build 500 houses we should have teams sharing the rest into 10houses each • Roads: a 50kms road can be constructed by 4 to 5 contractors, sourcing local labour the EPWP way • Security services through training unemployed youth through the EPWP coordinated by all the departments instead of contracts and outsourcing

  15. Job creation initiatives • Security services through training unemployed youth the EPWP way then give them contracts instead of outsourcing • Cooperatives making protective clothing for EPWP and uniform for the security • Government garage for servicing government fleet • Panelbeating of government fleet • Diesel and petrol in VTSD’s • Bakery project per VTSD

  16. Job creation initiatives • Get farmers or Cooperatives or families to supply the following for themselves and sell rest to the communities: • Cooking oil ( sun flower) • Milk • Mealing (Tshilo) • Abattoirs • Feedlots (over Kamp) to produce meat • Peanuts beneficiation e.g. Produce peanut butter • Pulsies e.g. dinawa., etc. for exports

  17. Job creation initiatives • Get farmers or Cooperatives or families to supply the following for themselves and sell rest to the community: • Sewing cooperatives • Orange juice making • Recycling projects per street per section • Eggs production • Learner support material supply and distribution through NWDC • Rangers to support farmers in prevention of stock theft and vandalism in communal farms • Chicken farms
