  1. Teacher advice • All in main room. 5 groups of pupils. • 3 trumpets, 4 guitars, 5 keyboards, 3 basses, 1 drum kit. • Select groups carefully and put 1 role model pupil in each group. • Lesson plan • 10 mins - Set the equipment up. • 05 mins - Instrument care • 20 mins - On each instrument. (2 instruments per lesson) • 05 mins - Play what you’ve got then swap onto new instrument. • 10 mins - Pack away carefully. • Teacher advice • Meticulous run through of instrument care. Especially guitar leads, tuning pegs and amplifiers etc.

  2. LEVELS FOR DISCUSSION • 3 – Basic answers such as – it sounded good, like the original. I didn’t think it sounded like the original. • 4 – Compare:To original and others. Evaluate: Judge / make a decision using vocab like timing, sections, timbre. Suggest how they can improve. • 5 – Analyse: Look closely / deeper and consider all aspect. Evaluate: how venue, occasion and purpose affect the way music is performed and heard. Refine and improve work. • 6 - Analyse, compare and evaluate how music reflects the contexts (style, genre, age, technology) in which it is created, performed and heard. They make improvements to their own and others’ work in the light of the chosen style. • 7 - They evaluate, and make critical judgements about, the use of musical conventions and other characteristics and how different contexts are reflected in their own and others’ work.   5. WORD UP: Bass • Level 5– I have complete control over the sound. Identical to music with rests. • Level 4– I can play most of the song but lack complete control • Level 3 – I can play the notes individually but lacks cohesion

  6. WORD UP: Drums • Level 5– I have complete control over the sound. Identical to music with rests. • Level 4– I can play the advanced part fairly well • Level 3 – I can play the easy part fairly well

  7. WORD UP: Piano • Level 5– I have complete control over the sound. Identical to music with rests. • Level 4– I can play the advanced part fairly well • Level 3 – I can play the easy part fairly well
