  2. Hrubieszower People inIsrael Hrubieszow Israel Immigrants from Hrubieszow who came to Eretz Israel in the 1930s, were among the founders of Kibbutzim, joined the labor battalions and volunteered to the Jewish Brigade and to other units of the British army during World War II.

  5. Did you know ? The origin of Zalman Shazar, third president of Israel (1963-1973) is in Hrubieszow. Hence his original name: Shneor Zalman Rubashow. Yosef Almogi (Krelenboim) was born in Hrubieszow, immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1930. Minister in the Israeli government (10th-15th Knesset), Mayor of Haifa (1974/75) and president of the Zionist Federation (1975 – 1978).   6. Hrubieszower People around the World Emigration intensified at the beginning of the 20th century. Some went to Eretz Israel, others left for the USA, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Peru, Guatemala, Brazil and Argentina. The landsmannschaft societies that were established in these countries held social events, memorial services and banquets, proceeds of which were dedicated to charity. Mexico
