  1. Digital Microfluidic Devices Voice of the Customer: Definitions: Biomarkers- Proteins that are prevalent in specific diseases Biological Protocols - Specific tests and procedures to find ELISA- Benchmark testing to quantify pathological antigens Electrowetting- By changing the voltages between neighboring electrodes, droplets can be generated, moved, split, merged and processed. These unit operations are freely programmable for each individual droplet by the end-user enabling online control of an assay. Project Description • The motivation of this project is to provide faster and cheaper biomedical testing capabilities to areas without access to full scale testing machines. • This can been achieved using Digital Microfluidic Devices. Dr. Schertzer uses a device that manipulates pico to nano sized droplets on an array of electrodes by eletrowetting. • This device has been used in academia and research. Further development is required for point of care solutions. Key Stakeholders • Dr. Schertzer/Research Assistants - It will help continue and further his research and area of interest. • Cleanroom Staff – Going to utilize their expertise and resources for the project. • End Users - They are getting all the benefits of the device. Seeking feedback • We hope that any team of engineers will able to understand this project.
