  3. DeLCON Consortium What is DeLCON Consortium ? The DBT's eLectronic Library CONsortium called as "DeLCON". The 'DeLCON Consortium' has been set up by the DBT to promote the use of electronic databases and full text access to journals by the Research and academic community in the country.

DeLCON Consortium The DBT, Government of India has established ‘DBT’s e-Library Consortium (DeLCON)’ in the year 2009 in the area of ‘Life Sciences’ and ‘Biotechnology’ and now the existing members of the ‘DeLCON Consortium’ are 33 Institutions. The ‘DBT e-Library Consortium’ (DeLCON) has now covered 917 online resources with 20 International Publishers.

  6. DeLCON Covered899 Online Journals in the Year 2009 & in the Year 2010 added 18 New e-Resources & Now, the total Covered DeLCON Journals are 917.

  7. Included 17 New Members in ‘DeLCON’ (Including 15 NER Institutions, Wellcome Trust - Hyderabad & BIRAP-New Delhi (in the Year 2010). Further, added 7 Institutions (4 DBT Institutions & 3 NER – Institutions) in the year 2011.

Criteria for Selection of ‘DeLCON Journals’ • Selections based on usage / suitability of e-resources to DBT Institutions. • Nodal Officer’s Feedback & Requests • Minimum Recommendations of 3-5 DBT Institutions • Recommendations of DeLCON Expert Committee • Based on Funds Availability. • Terms and Conditions should be suitable with Publishers • Perpetual Access & Back Volumes access • Publishers Discount offer and Negotiation.

  13. BUDGETS & FUNDS The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, is funding & Monitoring to ‘DeLCON Consortium’.

  14. PRISING MODEL The ‘DeLCON Consortium’ not prefer and not agree for ‘FTE’ Model.

  15. DISCOUNT Expectations The ‘DeLCON Consortium’ expectation is more than 80-85% discount.
