Our programs • Small loans – our core program • Target clients: • Land-less and asset-less women • < Rs. 3000 of monthly income • < 50 decimals of land (1 acre = 100 decimal) • Workers in the un-recognized sectors • Training: • Development of banking habits • Skills improvement • Roles / duties of group members and group leaders • Basic accounting • Reaching out – our special program for the hard-core poor • Being implemented as a distinct and separate program within the auspices of BJS (autumn 2009)

  6. Group formation • The group members are poor women • The members have similar socio-economic status, irrespective of religious beliefs • They live nearby, usually within walking distance from each other
